The landscape design for Union Plaza was made more complicated by the project being located on top of several levels of underground structured parking. This plaza is located between a high-rise residential tower and a lower office tower and also includes outdoor seating space for the ground level retail and restaurants. A water feature was designed to provide a focal point and white noise to the central space. Because the structured parking prevented the use of large trees, the design vision included large vertical light features that are intended to break-down the mass of the towers and provide elements that relate to the human scale. Brian C. Weber provided project planning, design and documentation as part of theĀ  DTJ design team.
